Understanding the strengths that already exist or are emerging in students and the school as a whole is an important first step in building on those strengths. The resiliency assessment questionnaires measure the internal and external strengths and provide individual and aggregate summaries on which to develop strength-building educational strategies and initiatives. (CR:ADS – Child Resiliency: Assessing Developmental Strengths, YR:ADS – Youth Resiliency: Assessing Developmental Strengths, AR: ADS – Adult Resiliency: Assessing Developmental Strengths, APC/Y: ADS – Adult Perception of Child/Youth; Assessment Development Strengths)

The Child, Youth and Adult Resiliency Frameworks provide an evidence supported model for understanding healthy, positive development and enhancing core competencies related to successful functioning in adulthood (Click HERE to view the Resiliency Frameworks).

In addition, the resiliency assessment questionnaires have been used to:

  • Assist provincial and local educators in monitoring indicators related to student/school well-being;
  • Set priorities and strategies for school initiatives, programs and services;
  • Provide a common framework for school and community collaboration;
  • Provide data for program evaluation;
  • Provide data for reports to the ministry and other funding agencies; and
  • Incorporate child and family needs in school planning.
